One thing that doesn't work here is \s!mapping=, \s!encoding=, It doesn't respect the fact that I don't want to use any patterns in mkii (encoding={ec,il2} works properly, but empty parameter seem to assume ec by default). Maybe we need to add l7x support after all (or Hans needs to fix the
