Good evening,
what is the recommended approach to citing online sources?
BibTeX does not understand the @ONLINE type, as opposed
to BibLaTeX.

Internet sources have other important information than book. For
example here I want to show the URL in the bibliography, whereas
for don't want it to be shown for books etc. Also the date of the last
access is needed.
This would be a nice format (first book, than online source):

John, D. (2011). Johnny's big Adventure. 2nd ed. Made-Up-Publisher.
        Some Place else.
Times Online (2011), Title of article. wwww.times-online.com/323/title-
        of-article.com (last access: 01.01.2011)

Note also that the author field is not automatically abbreviated.
Is there an approach to this or do I have to cheat in the bbl file in order
to get the desired output?

Regards,
Christian
