Dear Parents & Guardians,

1. My apologies! We have been having technical issues with our email blast
system. I hope that it has been rectified and that you are receiving emails
again. Please ensure that NT emails are not being filtered and ending up in
your spam folder.

2. Charity Week has been bigger and better than ever. Thank you for your
support. Remember that our annual Fashion Show is on February 4th and 5th and
all profits go towards our chosen charity “War Child”. The annual Silent
Auction will occur on February 4th at the Fashion Show at 6:30 p.m. We still
need donations! If you want to donate something please contact Kate at
k8.staff...@rogers.com.

3. Report cards will be distributed on Wednesday, January 26th. Please ask
your
son/daughter for the package. This will be a “progress” report and not a
“formal” report. You will receive the next formal report card in April. Grade
10 parents will receive an additional “formal” report card in several weeks
indicating achievement in the Grade 10 Civics/Career Education program.

4. Parent Option Information Night is on Wednesday, January 26th from
6:30-7:30
p.m. Parents are invited to attend a grade-specific session with a Guidance
Counsellor on the often confusing next year course selection process for
students. Counsellors will provide key information on the possible pathways
that students can take in order to complete high school and prepare for
post-secondary goals. Grade-specific locations will be posted throughout the
main floor of the school on the evening of January 26th.

5. The next School (Parent) Council meeting will be on Wednesday, February
16th
at 7:30 p.m. in room 215 (not on February 15th as in the student agenda book
and calendar). Join us and hear a special guest speaker! Dr. Ron Clavier will
speak about: “An Arts and Science-Based approach to helping our kids prepare
for post-secondary education”. Dr. Clavier will also be offering a parenting
course at North Toronto on “Adolescence: The Stormy Decade” in April.
Information will be available at the February 16th meeting.

6. There will be no classes on Friday, February 18th as teachers will be
engaged in professional activities and of course on Monday, February 21st
(Family Day). Enjoy!

Best wishes,

Joel Gorenkoff
Principal
