A Message from the NT Parent (School) Council:
The purpose of the NT Parent (School) Council is to provide parents with a
greater connection to school activities, familiarity with the teaching and
administrative staff and provide opportunities for parents to gain knowledge
and skills to improve dialogue with their student(s).
In hopes of furthering each of these connections, the council is pleased to
announce the launch of the NTCI Parent (School) Council Facebook page. It has
been created as a forum for discussion between parents of NTCI students. It is
open to the public, and may be viewed by the students, but this time it's all
about us! Members of the parent council executive will use this page to post
news items and information that we hope you will find relevant. We encourage
you to join the conversation and post items that you think other parents will
find interesting and will build stronger relationships between all members of
this community: students, parents, teaching staff and the school
administration. Please give consideration to the fact that we want to continue
to protect the privacy of teachers and students, so we ask that you avoid
naming individuals.
To get started, you can sign up for a Facebook user id for free by going to
www.facebook.com<http://www.facebook.com/>. Those who already use Facebook can
type "North Toronto Parent Council" or "NTCI Parent Council" in the search
field and you will see it as a place for you to visit.
For those who just attended Chris Vollum's presentation on Facebook 101 at the
parent council meeting on April 11, you can use this as an opportunity to
discuss privacy settings on Facebook with your student. Or for those who have
just joined Facebook, you can have your student help you post your first
comment. They'll feel so proud when they see you taking your first steps into
the social media world. And don't forget to "Like" us so that you will receive
updates.
We look forward to hearing from you!
The North Toronto Parent (School) Council Executive
