Dear Parents & Guardians, I hope you and your family enjoyed a restful, fun and happy holiday. January is a very hectic month for our students and for you! Please mark your calendars for these upcoming parent events at North Toronto CI: 1. The next School (Parent) Council meeting is on Wednesday, January 20 at 7:30 p.m. (in room 215). Details about the planned workshop will be provided in a separate email. 2. At the end of January, students will begin to choose their courses for the 2016-2017 school year. To help parents understand the process and the many course options and pathways, our Student Services department provides an information workshop for parents on Wednesday, January 27 at 6:30 p.m. Specific locations by grade will be posted. 3. WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS IN SUPPORTING OUR STUDENTS IN THEIR FRENCH STUDIES Natalie Bacchus, Curriculum Leader of Modern Languages and Classics at North Toronto CI and Yolanda Ricciuti, Curriculum Leader of the Moderns Department at Northern SS, will be offering an interactive workshop for all parents of students who attend North Toronto and Northern who are enrolled in the French program. This workshop will provide supplementary resources for language studies in French where parents can help guide their children to these resources in utilizing French outside of the classroom and for supplementation. Parents will have the opportunity to look at resources, provide feedback, and learn how they can support their children in their French studies. *Note: Please bring any personal electronic devices such as iPads, tablets, laptops, smartphones, etc. as we will be providing resources online that you can browse through at your leisure! DATE: Tuesday, February 2nd TIME: 7:00-8:00 p.m. ROOM: 215 4. Your son/daughter's second report card will be distributed on Friday, February 5th. Please watch for it.
