Acknowledgements and Upcoming Events Congratulations to NT student Kehkashan Basu for her nomination as one of the finalists for the 10th annual RBC "Top 25 Canadian Immigrant" award for 2018. Votes in support of Kehkashan can be cast at the following link: http://canadianimmigrant.ca/canadas-top-25-immigrants/vote Tuesday April 10 - OSSLT / Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test All eligible Grade 10 students and previously eligible senior students still requiring this compulsory graduation component will write the provincial literacy test starting at 8:30 am. Remediation classes have been scheduled for the afternoon for any students needing to complete outstanding assignments or make-up tests. These students will have been identified by their teachers and will have been given the appropriate time and location for this class. Leaside School Council invites our school community to a parent workshop promoting a positive body image and information regarding eating disorders lead by Kyla Fox. The workshop takes place Thursday April 19th at 7 pm at Leaside High School (200 Hanna Road in the school library). This is a free event but space is limited. We have representatives from Toronto Police Services 53 Division joining us, as well as board, staff and student representatives. Please join us on Wednesday April 25th at 7:30 pm. Friday April 27 - Grade 9 Geography Summative Field Trip Cuba Service Trip - a parent information session will be held regarding next year's school trip to Cuba.
