We are using Varonis for file and AD changes. It works well, we recently
added their DatAnywhere product to provide an enterprise DropBox function.

I have found documents published by Dell, but I am looking for real world

My NAS experience is limited to Netapp, and they were really nice. After

We reviewed ShareFile and DatAnywhere. We were already a Varonis customer
and like their products, so we ended up with DatAnywhere. It works well and
does not require additional storage, the file(s) are shared directly from
your file server.

We used to patch our servers manually. We bought BatchPatch (batchpatch.com)
and it has been, by far, the best purchase I've made in my 24+ years in IT.
It's not expensive and it's amazing what it can do for you.

We are in the same process and found out the vsan only allows for one

What are others doing about this short of building out separate clusters?

We have Nessus currently, but will probably be switching to Qualys later
this year. The reporting in Qualys is much better.

Will highly recommend BatchPatch. We use it to manage patching of our
servers. For DC's, we will download, install, and reboot one DC at a
timeconfirming that each is up before starting on the next.
We found it affordable and it saves us a ton of time to get patches
installed.

BatchPatch. It is a cheap third party tool. We use it to manage all our
Windows patching. You can setup jobs that: Download, install, and reboot,
check for new updates, download, install, and reboot, install a new version
of AV software that you have packaged, update registry keys, check for
Can't say for VNX, but I know when I was trying this for a NetApp a decade
ago that NetApp used proprietary firmware that prevented you from using a
hard drive that met all the other specifications.
I'd be kind of surprised if the VNX didn't require a special firmware.
