Ghost should be able to do all this if you use sysprep as well. You may need separate images for the different manufacturers depending on the hardware. Technet and the reskit has loads of info on sysprep. -Original Message- From: Roger Ali [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday,

You'll have to use Sysprep, but I think you can do it. It all depends on how new the machine is, the HAL needs to be 2000 compliant. You'll have to read up on sysprep, because it can load different IDE controller types. To answer your question, Ghost 2002 will work, and does so quite nicely.

Ghost and Sysprep is the right combination. We have been happily using Altiris Xpress, but so far we did seperate images for seperate platforms and didn't use the sysprep approach. regards Uso Want to unsub? Do that here: http://www.w2knews.com/rd/rd.cfm?id=unsub Need a good FAQ? Try this one

ghost or any program will not autoreconfigure your hardware, you have to have the same hardware on both the original image and the one you are pushing to, if you have only a few different hardware configs it is worth it to create those and use them for each specific type of machine. You can also

First off, you don't use Ghost 2002 in an enterprise. That is a single user/single PC version. You need Ghost 7 Enterprise. As for the IDE issue, you will need to test it and see. But the general rule of thumb is you make different images for different HW. -Original Message- From: Roger

the best way I've found is to do an image of each of the machines types then use them accordingly. win2k doesn't like to change some types of hardware (ide controllers) even though it's plug play. if the machines have different controllers they will blue screen on startup and give you a
