[Nuke-users] Mountain Lion changing MAC address

2012-12-27 Thread Howard Jones
Hi Has anyone found a good solution for this? I'm finding it's switching between en0 and en1 on a workstation. I've tried spoofing the address by sudo ifconfig en1 lladdr mac address but Nukex doesn't buy it, but on a restart it will switch back to en0, for a time at least. On a notebook I

Hey Howard, What exactly is going wrong? What is switching? Nuke doesn't really look at the NICs does it? It talks to the license server which gets its MAC from the first NIC in the list on OSX. I noticed sometimes the server goes down when that NIC doesn't have an IP anymore (either the plug

Simply put it seems mountain lion will use either en0 or en1 or wi-fi if no en1 as the MAC address returned by the foundry's licensing software. It seems a bit random as to which one can be returned. This is a well discussed issue recently on the list. No solution has been iron proof so far.

We had the same problem, but once we disabled all but the single ethernet it was fine. ctrl-click on the device in the network preferences and disable the unused hardware. Probably useless if you're using both ethernet ports. On 2012-12-27, at 11:23 AM, Howard Jones mrhowardjo...@yahoo.com
