Would this do what you're wanting?
Create a UV Map, transform it to your max scale and then mix that back to
original using the depth map.

Came across this quirk and wondered if anyone had any solutions:
With project set to %04d for number padding, all imported clips come in
correctly, but if clips are dragged and dropped from a browser* the padding
sets to . This, of course, is upsetting a few of our tools.
