[Nuke-users] FrameCycler Pro Question...

2012-02-18 Thread Richard Bobo
Hi,

I'm using NukeX on Mac OS X Lion. The version of FrameCycler Pro that gets
installed is a 32-bit version, which will only address 2GB of RAM caching. Can
the 64-bit version be installed, instead? It would be great to be able to
FlipBook more frames - I've got the RAM. Or, is this the only license available
as part of the NukeX install?

Thanks,
Rich

Thanks, Dave, but I'm just wondering about the 64-bit version of FrameCycler at
the moment. I've spent enough money for the time being…

Re: [Nuke-users] FrameCycler Pro Question...

2012-02-18 Thread Deke Kincaid
Rich: you should file a bug with support (supp...@thefoundry.co.uk). We
added 64 bit FC with Nuke 6.1 according to the article below (I knew I
wasn't crazy :) ).

I had a 900 frame 2k sequence I wanted to flip and increasing FrameCycler's
cache percentage to the max of 80% would not give me any more than about
200 frames, with plenty of RAM still available. That's what made me start
looking for reasons...

huh weird. 32bit here as well. even in 6.2. I thought it was 64bit as
well at one point wasn't it?

what version of nuke are you using? 64bit FC has been included with nuke

Thanks, Dave, but I'm just wondering about the 64-bit version of

Why not try RV as an alternative? I know it's not free like the license of
FrameCycler that is distributed with Nuke but it's not exactly expensive.
Seeing that Adobe now own FrameCycler I'm not too sure how long a license
will be included with Nuke.

Hi,

I'm using NukeX on Mac OS X Lion. The version of FrameCycler Pro that gets
installed is a 32-bit version, which will only address 2GB of RAM caching.
Can the 64-bit version be installed, instead? It would be great to be able
to FlipBook more frames - I've got the RAM. Or, is this the only license
available as part of the NukeX install?

Thanks,
Rich
