sorry for the OT but I was wondering if anybody has had any experience
running Nuke (or Hiero) on a new iMac with 5k retina display?
I'm a bit suspicious about the whole 5k monitor hype, and seeing the one
without retina display comes with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, while the
5K
We have a bunch of them. They work great, but haven’t used Studio (or Hiero)
but I don’t think you get GPU support in X. I can check later.

On
AMD on OsX is currently specific for the trash-can Mac for GPU
acceleration. i.e. an AMD 7950 card won't give GPU acceleration. A request
has been made for more AMD acceleration support.

are the dnxhr codecs somewhere I can download to use in Nuke to read DNxHR
files??? Or is there a way to do this. Davinci writes them as MFX
wrapper.

Ahh I miss-read. We added dhxhd but I think dnxhdr came after we shipped
Nuke Studio so it's probably not in there.

MXF is not like quicktime where you can simply install the codec. It has
to be hard coded into the application. Once Avid releases their quicktime
codec version though you should be able to use it in Nuke.

I was hoping that adding the codec would work but I cant find it to even
add it. I guess resolve has it for round tripping to avid.
