Some belated yet historical news for Brooklyn's natural history
Paul Sweet, Collections manager for the Division of Vertebrate Zoology -
Ornithology of the American Museum of Natural History alerted me a few weeks
ago of a small owl that was spotted roosting inside a backyard dense
Interesting. I just got notification that HOX6, seen at Point Lookout Dec. 12,
is a female banded in 2009 at the same location. Still nothing definitive on
the RE series (10 birds in the same flock).

The highlight of the day was a Barnacle Goose reported from Piermont Pier,
Piermont NY. The goose was seen in the Hudson River from the end of the
