I just got home from work this afternoon, did a few things in the kitchen,
then looked out the window at our feeders. There was a strange bird on the
hopper feeder and since I did not recognize it, I first tried to figure it
as an aberrant American Goldfinch. But it differed in so many ways that

On Manhattan island, in New York City, Monk Parakeets have successfully nested
and raised young again this year. I very recently observed family groups in
one area, on city-owned land. Not far from that area there also were fledgling
Yellow Warblers & I observed young being fed
