Before leaving to visit family I had a little time to bird northern Sullivan County this morning and was surprised to find two Bohemian Waxwings in Debruce. I was able to observe them for five minutes before they flew out of sight. I did not see any food source for them in the area so I believe

There was an immature *Greater White-fronted Goose *with around 400 Canadas on Tung Ting Pond along Centershore Road in Centerport this morning at 8:15. The geese began leaving around 9:00 when I drove by later. The previously reported waterfowl continues on the pond, now including six Lesser

While looking in Ft Tilden for the King Eider reported yesterday and from the Christmas count we saw three Harlequin Ducks, 1 Drake and 2 hen, located just west of Beach 169th Street near where Shane reported the King Eider being yesterday. Also lots of Common Eider, Surf and White-winged

During an unsuccessful search for the adult Black-headed Gull this morning, I found a first-winter BLACK-HEADED GULL on the same fishing pier that the adult has been. It was not as windy today (15-20 mph instead of 25-30 mph) so I can't say for certain the adult has refuted my extreme wind

Birded yesterday along Riis Park/Fort Tilden coast (Queens county) with Seth Ausabel, Corey Finger and Bob Dieterich. First bird of the day was the first winter KING EIDER that had initially been found on Saturdays' Brooklyn CBC. The bird was just off a jetty toward the eastern of Fort Tilden.
