Unfortunately the White Pelican in Setauket did not settle in. It landed on
the water at around 2:00 p.m. and by about 2:30 it was flying west over the
trees in the general direction of Conscience Bay, Flax Pond, Stony Brook
Harbor, etc.
A EURASIAN WIGEON was also in Setauket Harbor, near
The Trumpeter Swan, found by Bob Wilson and reported by Angus Wilson,
remains on Lake Agawam in Southampton, Suffolk Cty.
My sister and I saw the Trumpeter (wing-tagged A60) this afternoon on
western side of the lake, towards the south end. It was alone, but not far
from several Mute Swans and a

Montauk Point today, all mostly on the Sound side. My wife Tracy and I also
got great looks at four or more Razorbills landing and feeding with some of the
closer Eiders.
We also saw a beautiful adult Lesser

65 COMMON REDPOLLS this afternoon at Read Sanctuary. A flock of 40 in a birch
stand, and a flock of 25 that came in off the sound and flew right overhead.
