I was looking for the Black-bellied Whistling Ducks w-o success too from 11-2:30. One of the people who was looking had been @ Sterling Forest for the Golden-winged Warbler rhis morning. A large bear followed him on the path and blocked his way from getting back to his car, without assistance

I heard and subsequentlly saw a MOWA on the Great Hill this afternoon at 3pm. It was singing in the newly landscaped garden area along the Hill's west side. I assume this is the same bird that Tom Perlman found early this morning. Many thanks to Barrie Raik for "tweeting" the word out (#cpkbirds

A couple of noteworthy birds were at Calvert Vaux Park in Brooklyn today. A female BLUE GROSEBEAK came up out of the high grasses in the corner along the Six Diamonds ball fields fence near Shore Parkway. Later, an adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was on the baseball fields in the same area.
