Spotted the YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT this afternoon at 12pm while standing on the NY Public Library patio, above the "lawn", looking down at the shrubs.  From my perch, I had point-blank looks at the bird foraging silently below.  It would not have been visible from the street.   Well worth the

At approx. 10:30AM this morning I briefly observed a Northern Shrike perched up on a Red Cedar tree on the north side of the Ocean Parkway west of the entrance to the Cedar Beach Marina. The bird dropped down below the shrub line and was not seen again. My first Common Goldeneye of the fall, a
