Someone brought this to my attention today, and since I didn't see it on the
NYS list, I figured I'd pass the info along. I think it was posted on the
Cayuga listserv. Maybe the same bird I found back in December?

Partridge Run was slow this morning, but we had a fly over juvenile Golden
Eagle.
Later we stopped at Basic Creek Reservoir where there was a good assortment of
waterfowl including Gadwall, American Wigeon, Mallard, American Black Duck,
Northern Pintail, Hooded Merganser, Common Merganser, and
Sunday, March 3 The Iceland Gull ( kumlieni) was
present at Iron Pier Beach,Northville

Underwood at Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. The purpose of our
study is to determine the types of seed-based bird
feeders people in the United States use and how
I noticed a very unusual duck while birding Tifft this afternoon. It
appeared to be a male Mallard hybrid of some sort (my best guess is American
Wigeon). The bill had a grayish tip, and the remaining 2/3 of the bill was dark
in color. The back/ scapular area was typical for a drake Mallard.
