To supplement Peter's collared Canada Goose report, on 12/5/12 I also found a bird from this very same batch of 68 banded canada geese up in west Greenland. Like Peter's bird, my goose had a yellow neck collar with the 3-digit code printed in black (GA9). It was feeding in a farm field along

As of late this afternoon, the Black-headed Gull continues to be seen north of the dam at Mill Pond in Setauket. The bird stayed north of the tidal creek, picking about the benthos with a group of mallards. It would occasionally lift off and circle the area sometimes leaving sight, but would

While looking at feeding groups of Red and White-winged Crossbills, we spied a late American Golden Plover feeding in the median just east of Field 8. The count period for the Captree CBC starts tomorrow. Perhaps (however unlikely) the bird will stay till Sunday. Attempts to turn the bird into

Just thought it would be exciting to hear that a Canada Goose that I reported last week with a yellow neck collar was collared in Denmark in 2009 along with Greater White Fronted geese. This individual hadn't been seen since banding. I saw it in sod field on Rt 51 in Eastport, Long Island. Reminds
