I managed to bookend two bird trips today in-between home repairs: an early
morning trip to Southard's Pond and a late afternoon trip to Timber Pt. Marina
and golf course. The trip to Southard's was fairly quiet, with modest numbers
of Yellow-rumped and Pine Warblers present. A few Blue-headed

Fellow Birders;
I visited Oakland Lake, Queens County, twice today, and neither saw nor
heard the Hooded Warbler that was present for the better part of a week. (I
thought I heard it when I walked in, but I am certain I was in error; another
person reported it later in the day, but the

I entered Central Park from the Columbus Circle entrance at 5:30AM this
morning in hopes that I might observed a fallout- no luck. At least not Between
W 59th St. And the Ramble. I did pick up a few FOS birds though. Here is a list
of migrants that I heard/saw.
The Lake-
American Redstart
I am passing on a report obtained from a very reliable source in the Bronx
of a SWALLOW TAILED KITE seen this morning over the north Parade Grounds @
Van Cortlandt Park heading west towards the river.

Just wanted to report my first sighting of Baltimore Oriole at Strack Pond,
Forest Park this morning. Yesterday just as the fog was rolling in a good
number of birds were found, Blue-gray gnatcatchers, yellow-rumps, palm
warblers, blue headed vireos. One man at the pond told me he saw a fist
Lawrence's Warbler in flowering cherry at entrance to Vale of Cashmere from
Nellies Lawn. Seen by Tom Stephenson's morning Brooklyn Bird Club group.
