Peter Yoerg has just provided an update on the MARBLED GODWITS. They flew northeast from Dunkirk Harbor perhaps an hour ago. He has relocated them just northeast of the mouth of Cattaraugus Creek. This is just inside of Erie County. He is looking from the pier on the southwest side of the creek

Today Gary Straus, Peter Post, Ardith Bondi and I went out on a whale watching trip led by Arthur Kopelman. After the fog lifted birds were revealed to be numerous with ~500 Greater Shearwater, ~200 Cory's Shearwater, ~50 Sooty Shearwater, and ~ 12 Wilson's Storm-petrels . Also seen were ~
