After work this evening I had a Mourning Warbler singing and doing its warbler business along the north path of Fuchs Pond Preserve in Northport. It appeared only for a minute and then dove deep into the bushes and headed West, not to be seen again. Nothing else of note. Sorry for the late

I spent a few hours on the remains of the West Pond trail closest to the visitor's center birding the area for a while with Sean Sime and keeping vigil on the cycling Ibis flock that were roving in and out of the marsh near the Osprey platform before the breach. As of 2:45 p.m. when I left, I had

My apologies for the abbreviated post earlier, but I was trying to thumb the message and keep an eye on the White-faced Ibis at the same time (cue gender stereotypes in regards to multitasking now...). After the initial 5 minute viewing the bird flew north east and I did not see it again putting

Doug Futuyma and I spent part of the morning seawatching from Robert Moses SP, Suffolk, LI. The highlights were one Cory's and 11 Sooty Shearwaters, heading west to east. A small flight of Barn Swallows heading east to west was also underway, including single Bank Swallow and Chimney Swift.

I did a short walk up on the ridge from about 6:00-7:00 AM, primarily to see if I might hear the song of a Bicknell's Thrush again, but also to see what might be frequenting the "brushfire area". I did not hear a Bicknell's song, but I did find a Gray-cheeked/Bicknell's type thrush in the
