[nysbirds-l] Jones Beach west end 25 Lesser Black-backed Gulls

This afternoon around 5 PM in the eastern parking lot of WE2 there were 25 Lesser Black backed Gulls, ranging from 1st summers through adults. The strong winds made land birding difficult. The only warblers seen were a Prairie and Yellow-rumped. On the spit were Skimmers, Oystercatchers,

Yesterday late afternoon,I found a large group of Greater Yellowlegs resting in the mouth of Howells Creek off Howells Point in Bellport.When I went back to get my scope (I was golfing at the time!)I set up and counted 49 birds.A common bird but the concentration was interesting. Thanks Lee
