Birded the East End pretty hard all weekend with a couple of visiting birders from Madeira, Portugal. Nothing super noteworthy but slight signs of the change of season. Lots of Snow Buntings moving - had 80+ at Napeague, 60+ at Cupsogue, and one at Teddy Roosevelt CP in Montauk. Also a few

Thursday morning an immature northern goshawk flew across the parking lot at orchard beach, Pelham bay park in the Bronx, and perched in a tree for a few minutes. Sorry about the late post, but just confirmed the ID last night. Pictures are on my Facebook page "Steve Sachs photography" Steve

[nysbirds-l] Painted Bunting -Prospect Park - Brooklyn

The Painted Bunting continues in and around the green roof at the Lefrak Center in Prospect Park. This is the new complex housing the skating rinks. The best entrance is either at Lincoln Road or at the corner of Parkside and Ocean Avenues, both stops on the Q train if you're using mass transit.
