On the 1st day of count week period for the S. Nassau CBC, I had an opportunity to visit 9 locations within the count circle along with Suzanne Cristallo onboard for a nice outing under calm conditions with good visability. Highlights were: Marsh Wren (1 at Oceanside Marine Study Area)

Both the Painted Bunting and Black-headed Gull were present in Prospect Park this afternoon. The bunting was found napping on a branch at the base of a dense patch of wildflowers. It eventually became active, feeding mostly in the leaf litter at that section on the north side of the rink. The

Just as a heads up for anyone interested in looking at brant on this cloudy day, I believe the interesting brant from yesterday continues at the JBWE Coast Guard Station right now. Bobby Rosetti, my dad, and I got some views of it preening and sleeping on the spit. It was still there moments
