Did some birding along the northern fork of Long Island over the weekend. Very
small numbers of shorebirds, nothing unusual - Black-bellied Plover, Ruddy
Turnstone, Oyster Catchers. At the very tip of the north fork between Orient
Point and Plum Island where flocks of Common Terns from the Gul
A Bostonian, Mr. Chayet did a syndicated radio segment called "Looking at the
Law" interesting little vignettes. I think it was carried on CBS radio in NY.
Now how does this involve birds? Well, one piece involved a large pot bust on
the west coast where they hauled it on a barge out to sea to
A Lark Sparrow located earlier today is still present at 7 pm along the
fisherman's access road next to the Coast Guard Station at Jones Beach West
End.
