On my way to the Aquebogue P.O. I observed a "birder", standing on his
car's "running board", binoculars in hand,while checking out the large
goose flock on the sod farm located on the n/s of Northville Turnpike,
between Doctor's Path & Route 105, Riverhead. I stopped and asked what he
had seen, wh
As negative reports can be useful, I’ll say I was just in Clove Lakes Park for
the past ~ 2 hours and found neither the Thrush nor the Chat.
The Chat was, however, seen by another observer in the previously reported
location around 3:30 this afternoon.

It may be noted to this list that the Varied Thrush on Staten Island was
[re]-found on Wednesday, January 16th, 2019 (again, for the 2nd time in less
than 2 months) by Catherine Barron, a long-reliable and regular Staten Island
(Richmond County, NYC) bird
Seen from concrete bridge behind church just off Brooke’s Pond. Same spot as
previously seen about a quarter mile from intersection of clove and forest.
