After two days of watching the Pacific Loon and waiting for good photo ops,
I would say that it's preference is to be inside the docks just to the east
of the pier. Movements out of there could be attributed to people walking on
the docks. There was someone (not a birder or photographer) there yest

The location as indicated in the map is Lake Montauk at South Lake Drive
The was also an Iceland Gull at the West jetty.

During a lunch break this morning I found ~50 common redpolls and at least
one Hoary Redpoll in the field north of the SaveALot in Coxsackie, NY
(Greene County.). This area is part of the Coxsackie screw-in grasslands

The loon is currently viewable only from the end of Bayview Ave. It is between
Bayview and the yacht club, but Bayview provides the only vantage point. In the
past hour or so, it has been moving back and forth between those two spots.
