While fishing today at the edge of the Rio Reservoir north of Port Jervis I had
an adult Bald Eagle land next to the road about 100 feet to the right of me and
just sit there for a couple of minutes until some moron came by in a truck and
scared it off. Soon after an immature dove for a fish in
Eric Miller & I had 8 or more Black-bellied Whistling Ducks today at the
pond at the exit ramp to the Meadowbrook from Bay Pkwy at Jones Beach, the
continuing spot. They were only visible when in the air moving from one spot
to another, otherwise they were hidden behind the vegetation.

For the fourth summer in a row an adult Bridled Tern has returned to the
Common/Roseate tern colony on Great Gull Island. Once again you cannot land on
the island.
