Wow it’s been a wild couple of days! We went from relatively low numbers of
waterfowl and lots of ice and snow on Saturday to LOTS of birds and a lot more
open water.
“Route 31 Muck”: this is the hot spot. These flooded ag fields are privately
owned, but the birds do not care.
About 30 minutes ago as I was walking on the trail from the parking lot at
Washington County Grasslands I had a large pale falcon flying along the far
tree line.
Bird was paler overall than any PEFA I can ever recall seeing and appeared
heavy-bodied and wide-winged. Face appeared grayish as wel
