In between watching grandson #3's basketball game, and grandson #4's investiture into the Men's/Boy's Choir at St.Agnes Cathedral (both in RVC) I had a couple of hours to get down to Jones Beach and try to see some birds !
Heading south on Meadow brook Parkway, I counted 2 Red-tail Hawks. At the West End I ran into Mike Scheibel, whose council allowed me to view the "little guy" ! He, himself, had likewise been befriended earlier...sharing, certainly is one of the best aspects of our avocation ! Also had an adult Sharp-shinned Hawk perched between the W/ E and the Ocean Parkway, as well as an adult Peregrine Falcon on the water tower.
