June 5  -  Today at the Batavia Waste Water Treatment Plant there  was a 
flock of 19 Semi-palmated Sandpipers, an adult male Common Merganser, a  
lingering adult male Ring-neck Duck, 34 Ruddy Ducks, a pair of Northern  
Shovelers, and two male American Wigeons. 
 
At the Alabama Swamps: 
 
At Oak Orchard WMA a TRUMPETER SWAN  and an adult Pied-billed Grebe  with 6 
young at Windmill Marsh. A Common Moorhen at Goose Pond. The nesting Bald  
Eagle will soon be leaving the nest.
 
At Iroquois NWR there two nestling Bald Eagles on the nest and an adult  
nearby, and a third year Bald Eagle was observed fly two miles  north north on 
the Feeder Road from Rt. 77 making it a five Bald Eagle  day. (I did not 
check the Bald Eagle nest at the Tonawanda WMA.)   At Kumph Marsh there were 5 
male American Wigeons, and one male Green  Winged Teal.  At Cayuga Pool 
there was a total of 4 American Coots with 14  young, 2 Common Moorhens with 5 
young, 10 Black Terns, and I was fortunate  enough to see a Least Bittern 
fly across the pool .
