Hi everyone,

A female type Dickcissel was present on the shrubby "island" in the middle of
the West End 2 parking lot at sundown this evening. Exact coordinates follow
this message. Also in the island were several phoebes, a House Wren, a
first-winter male Rose-breasted Grosbeak, several Savannah and single Chipping
and White-throated Sparrows, two Common Yellowthroats.

Phoebes, Savannah Sparrows and Palm Warblers made up the majority of the
migrant population throughout. Other notable passerines were a single
1st-winter White-crowned Sparrow, a Dark-eyed Junco, and a Baltimore Oriole at
the Coast Guard Station, and a Swamp Sparrow on the Jones Inlet jetty. Also
seen from the jetty were a pair of Royal Terns.

In other news, the mosquito population continues to dwindle. The decent
northeast wind also made the survivors' lives hard. It was an especially
pleasant day to be outside.
