I took a quick drive around the west end after the rains around 4:30-5 PM. 
Thrashers are in, and there was a Meadowlark along the edge of the westernmost 
entrance to WE2. Some distant terns north of the CG Station were probably 
Forster's, but I couldn't tell. The bad news is that some mosquitoes are out, 
and there's lots of standing water.

Probably the most interesting birds were at the marshy field, now a pond, at 
the intersection of the cut that goes from the Ocean Parkway to the Bay 
Parkway, a bit west and south of Field 10. There were 4 Wood Ducks, 3 
Blue-winged Teal, and a couple of Green-winged Tea. Boat-tailed Grackles were 
around the toll booths on the wantagh Parkway, where they usually can be foundl
