Doors open at 6:15pm; please plan to arrive early.* Join NYC Audubon for a lecture by renowned author Carl Safina based on his latest book, Beyond Words. Carl will lead us inside animals’ lives and minds, witnessing their profound capacity for perception, thought, and emotion, showing why the word “it” is often inappropriate as we discover “who” they really are. Dr. Safina is the founder of the Safina Center at Stony Brook University and host of PBS’s Saving the Ocean. His books include Song for the Blue Ocean, Eye of the Albatross, Voyage of the Turtle, Nina Delmar: The Great Whale Rescue, The View From Lazy Point: A Natural Year in an Unnatural World, and A Sea in Flames: The Deepwater Horizon Oil Blowout.
