I had a Chuck-will's-widow singing at the T intersection of Napeague Meadow
Road and Lazy Point Rd. in Napeague (Amagansett) this evening at around
8:45pm. The bird then flew from its perch directly over my head. Pretty
cool. There were Whip-poor-wills at almost every stop along the Western end
of
The Napeague/Lazy Point area as posted by pmaxp proved to be a stellar
repeat performance by the Chuck-Will's Widows and the Eastern
Whip-poor-wills.

Just returned from a couple of hours birding the Napeague/Lazy Point area east
of Amagansett on a perfect night:
3-4 Chuck-Wills-Widows (heard from the intersection of Lazy Point Road and
Crassen Boulevard and along the western section of Napeague Meadow Road); 7-9
Whip-Poor-Wills (all along La
