Late this afternoon, Tom Fiore found a Pink-footed Goose among the flock of Branta Canadensis that were feeding on the Parade Grounds at Van Cortlandt Park.
I know this find will excite many listers and I ask that with the Bronx CBC just days away, to please exercise good behavior if you decide to twitch. Meaning, try not to chase it away before count day :-) An excellent find by Tom and underscores the importance of Van Cortlandt Park - especially the Parade Grounds. I'll take this opportunity to unashamedly again cite the issues and concerns about plans to pave the Putnam Trail. See here for more information http://www.savetheputnamtrail.com/ Our community need to remain engaged in the changes (some not good) taking place in many of the places we love. Congrats Tom, a fine bird just in time for the CBC! Now we just need it to stick.
