This morning (July 5), I did a seawatch from 6:50 to 8:20 at Robert Moses State Park (Field 2). The only species of note was Cory's Shearwater; I saw 13, mostly in the first 20 minutes or so. Soon after I ended my watch, Tom Burke and Gail Benson arrived and saw at least one more individual. This seems to be the highest number reported so far this season from a Long Island shore point. My Northern Gannet count was 18.
