I'm sure there are others on this list besides myself who are wondering
about the trio of superb rarities in Champlain area (Clinton Co.). Evidently
snow has limited the number of visits but a recent post on NNYBIRDS from Tom
and Donna Gooley confirmed that the adult *IVORY GULL* was seen at Kelly's
Bay on Monday and Tuesday. Ben Griffith on the Vermont side also confirmed
seeing the bird yesterday. It sounds like more snow is expected but let's
hope that this does not deter the ice fishermen who are more than likely the
reason the gull is hanging around this one spot. I've not seen updates on
the *NORTHERN HAWK OWL(S)* nor the *TUFTED DUCK* (further south on the lake
near South Junction) but would guess they are still around too. Certainly
all three were present on Monday.

Please note that all three species are NYSARC review birds and the Committee
would appreciate written reports and photographs.
