I observed a Vesper Sparrow in Lake Success at the following location:
40°45'30.8"N 73°41'36.0"W

It was favoring the north side of the baseball field moving between the
ground and the trees along the fence. Seen at approximately 8:45am and
again 12:20pm
I observed a Vesper Sparrow in Lake Success at the following location:

Vesper sparrow continues in the same spot as yesterday, the bike path east of
short beach has a turn that goes north about 100 yards or so after the coast
guard sand spit... when you make the turn proceed slowly and the Vesper tends
to feed on the right side of the path , if a cyclist goes by

At least one adult Vesper Sparrow was present at Freshkills Landfill, as
well as several juvenile grasshopper sparrows and dozens of Bobolink.

Southards Pond Park in the town of Babylon continues near the tennis courts

I just found a VESPER SPARROW in a section of Alley Pond Park (Queens) that
I don't normally check (but I had a few minutes to fill). Being that it's a
weekday in October, the ball fields near 73rd Avenue and 224 St. are quiet,
allowing some birds to hang around. 2 Eastern Bluebirds were also
I spotted the Vesper Sparrow in All Faith Cemetery in Middle Village again
this afternoon. I first saw it Wednesday but was unable to relocate it
yesterday. It has moved to a new location and is now near the General
Slocum memorial, along the paved road that is blocked off to traffic.

A vesper sparrow was seen and photographed by Paul Gildersleeve yesterday
(4/16/11) at Sunken Meadow SP. It was in the lawn area at the easternmost side
of parking lot 3 bordered by a fenced in tree island.
