A male Yellow-headed Blackbird was found early Monday evening at the
Mount Loretto (NY D.E.C.) site, near the parking lot off Hylan
Boulevard. This is in southern Staten Island, near the southernmost
point in the state. The bird was photographed, photos here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/sethbirds
and the report from the SINaturaList (yahoo-groups) list-serve is
here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SINaturaList/message/1615 For
those unfamiliar with the area where it was seen, there is a lot of
habitat there within which a blackbird can find cover, and of course
throughout Staten Island as well. A nice find and report from the
Wollneys!

Good luck,

Tom Fiore,
Manhattan
