We went to Brooklyn to see if we could find the Mew Gull. As we were walking over the footbridge, we noticed a small flock of gulls (about 50 or so) on the grass by the promenade. There was one birder there (Andrew, thank you so much!) who, when he saw us with the bins, waved us over. He quickly pointed out the gull to us. This was at around 2:45. We enjoyed looking at and photographing the bird for about 15 minutes, then they flushed when someone walked by closely. They returned after a few minutes and stayed for about another 10 minutes until someone on a bicycle flushed them. Most of the flock returned to the grass on the other side of the footbridge (same side of the road) but the Mew Gull was not with them. We waited about 10 minutes to see if he would return but we were cold and decided to leave.
