Arrived at the NE cloverleaf pond at Jones Beach SP about 10 minutes ago.
Couldn’t see any ducks in the pond itself among the heavy vegetation, but
then about five minutes ago 10 Black-bellied Whistling-Ducks picked up,
whistling, and flew east/northeast. Perhaps a couple still in this pond,

The Whistling Ducks were still present when I arrived at 8:20 tonight; however,
shortly thereafter, they picked up and flew low over the marinas and
residential area immediately to the west.
For those looking to chase the birds early tomorrow, I think it is still worth
visiting Cow Meadow. Aft
Wonder if same birds seen in Monmouth Co. NJ yesterday through last evening? I
will miss them regardless. Waiting for a Westchester visit.

They are near the east end of the pond, resting near the edge. Please be
cautious in approaching the pond as there is not much room and they could
easily be flushed.

Very nice birds to get. I had two with the redhsank in Brooklyn back in the

Oneida Lake, not the east end (the coordinates provided should be
correct).
