The hummingbird was present at it's favorite wood covered hummingbird feeder
inside the butterfly garden at 6:35 AM this (Monday) morning. Early thoughts
are leaning towards the expected Rufous but I have some questions about it so I
need to see better photographs than I was able to get
Perhaps the same bird that was spotted there last year.

Hello NY birders,
today I birded the BASHakill wildlife management area in
Mamakating, NY. Nov. 7, 2011. mostly sunny, approximately 52f,
almost no wind.
Upon stopping approx 100 feet from the bridge on Haven road at
3pm I saw and heard next to nothing, I waited, listened and watched.

Hello All, I was birding today at Montauk with Eric Lamont and
friends. We had one nice surprise, an immature Brown Pelican along the east
shoreline of Lake Montauk,just inside the jetties. We saw a number of
Forsters Terns further along to west at Culloden Point.Good Autumn

Today, around 1:30pm, I observed the Pelican flying out of Fort Pond,
feeding in Fort Pond Bay and coming to rest on the Duryea Ice House
pier.

I ran across (or rather, it ran across me as I was standing still) a late
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher along the West Pond Trail at Jamaica Bay WIldlife Refuge.
It was in the vegetation between the trail and the pond at the SW corner of the
