An improved position from a report for today, September 6th. The satellite photo is old — on the order of two years so — and currently the group of parking areas is occupied with a good deal of construction material and equipment; 41.163368, -73.130480 - Google Maps -- NYSbirds-L List

I saw a Western Tanager today in my yard in Rockville Centre-a brief stop but I had heard it much earlier in the day without knowing it. It may still be in the neighborhood, though I see there is a lot of movement right now. Keep a lookout! Ruth -- NYSbirds-L List Info:

Greetings all, The Google Map link/coordinates posted by Jim Osterlund is correct. Sikorsky Airport in Stratford, CT is very small and not too complicated to navigate. From the NYS border on I-95 it is approximately 40 miles; from my house (near the Stamford/Greenwich border) it's only a 45

Instructions for locating this bird remain distressingly unclear, with details only locals might recognize. None the less, it would appear that the fence involved is here, marked by the green arrow, paralleling Great Meadow Road, marked with the red pointer; 41.163180, -73.130718 - Google
