Has anyone seen, or tried to see, the Staten Island NYC Rufous
Hummingbird (lingered over 6 weeks) this weekend? "Negative" as well
as positive reports have value, especially with any bird that may not
stay on.

A very late Black-throated Blue
Hi everyone.
I spent the afternoon at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. The usual assortment
of waterfowl was present. But there was also this swan, which looked to me
like a Tundra Swan. Other birders that saw it with me thought the same, but
another birder I showed photos to found them to be
Decided to check out Chautauqua Lake in the SW corner of the state today
given the nice weather. Lots of waterfowl still on the lake with the

Hi all,
With the helpful responses I got before my trip from Jim Pawlicki and Chris
Tessaglia-Hymes, I had an amazing time in Buffalo. At the Niagara River and
Falls on Friday, I had 11 species of gulls, including the previously
reported California at Whirlpool-Jim later had it at Goat Island. Ice
I was one of those "7 other birders" Karen Fung mentioned in her post.

The previously reported Orange-crowned Warbler also put in an appearance,
actually sharing a bran

views of the Ash-throated Flycatcher as it perched and fed on both
sides of Cohancy Street, just north of N.Conduit Avenue. For those

The largest number of 'small, non-Laughing' gulls that I've seen out here in
a while were off Montauk Point (Suffolk Co.) this morning.There were more
than 300 Bonaparte's Gulls with at least *45 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES* (max
count for single sweep, 50:50 ads:1st winters) and a striking
1st-winter

This morning, I was able to read the numbers on an adult Ring-billed Gull at
the Coeymans Landing Park on the Hudson River in Albany Co., NY.

along the Chemung River in downtown Elmira, we caught three glimpses of a

While birding along Dune Road today (Sunday) at 4:20PM, I saw and
photographed a Sandhill Crane. The bird was seen standing just east
of the "Berm", which is east of Dockers Restaurant. It took off,
after a Great Blue Heron swooped past, and was last seen flying north-
east over the marshe
The Western Kingbird moved west shortly after being found, and was last seen
out in the furthest (southernmost) dune line from the se corner of the west end
2 parking lot, past the phragmites. It was being searched for unsuccessfully
when I left around noon

Like a lot of birders here in Cape May, I spent most of the day watching and
photographing the continuing Ivory Gull at Breezy Lee Marina. At around 5pm
the bird moved towards the mouth of the harbor, following a few other gulls
towards the drawbridge that leads to 2 Mile Landing. I went to t
