On a Great South Bay Audubon (GSBAS) field trip last weekend we had
a bird on Mine Road (between poles 38 and 39 I believe) that from all
outward appearances was a pure Golden-winged Warbler (photos viewable here:

Caeruleun, Latin for sky or heavens. Well as we were slowly coming down
the road, back to our cars, we caught sight of a female and a male Cerulean
warblers in a bush near the edge (a nesting site?) and with view looking
down on these two birds the colors were crisp and a visual spectacle. That
Shortly after 3:00 today, a female Summer Tanager visited the Forest Park
waterhole.

No Wilson's Phalarope on the West Pond today, but Tom Burke and Gail Benson
found a pair (male and female) on the East Pond around the "raunt". They were
viewed from the overlook on the west side of the pond (past Big John's Pond).
At this time of year, there is no shoreline for birders to walk

Joe Viglietta discovered a singing BICKNELL'S THRUSH early this morning and
brought a number of early arrivals to Joe Giunta's Birding Class over to see
and hear this elusive thrush. We had sustained looks with interesting song and
call notes!A great find
