There was a Mourning Warbler at Floyd Bennett Field this afternoon.
It was low in the shrubbery on the left side of the blind at the
Return-a-Gift Pond. Also of note was a White-winged Scoter at Dead
Horse Bay, near the Marina.

Two Black-necked Stilts mentioned on last night's New York RBA were present
this morning at Sebonac Inlet in Southampton, Suffolk County. The stilts were
feeding around the southwestern tip of the gravel island directly east of the

for them, from noon to 5:30. Other observers, who walked areas that we did

at 3pm. It was singing in the newly landscaped garden area along the

A couple of noteworthy birds were at Calvert Vaux Park in Brooklyn
today. A female BLUE GROSEBEAK came up out of the high grasses in the
corner along the Six Diamonds ball fields fence near Shore Parkway.
Later, an adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was on the baseball fields
in the same area.
I was thinking of going out there tomorrow. Are certain times of day better
than others?
