I put up a blog post with photos of the Black Terns and Royal Terns I found yesterday in Hampton Bays along the shores of the Peconic Bay and the Shinnecock Inlet. I had a photo of a Sandwhich Tern but seemed to have "misplaced it". For those interested:

I looked for the Black-necked Stilt this morning, Monday, about 10:30.  No luck.  The storm created pool where the bird was has disappeared.  There are workmen in there now. In case you want to try for it, drive west on Beekman Avenue.  You will see the huge abandoned GM site on your right.

John, Don't feel too bad. Jean and I headed down to Jones beach after being alerted to the goodies, and after dipping on the Caspian @ Flushing Meadow. There were at least 7+ Black terns , and 2+ Skimmers there. At Jones we were alerted to the parkies chasing off some cars, so we didn't go

Good morning all, Doug Gochfeld, Sean Sime, Shane Blodgett, and I just had two Bridled Terns moving south past veteran's memorial pier in Brooklyn. We've also seen two Wilson's Storm-Petrels moving out of the bay and a large number of Laughing Gulls. Best, Andrew -- NYSbirds-L List Info:
